My name is Clyde Cathcart and I have created this site with the help and support of
many friends and family.
I became interested in this after my mother was diagnosed and treated for breast
cancer in spring 2009. As a family, we talked about her treatment and her options. My mother has worked
in health care all of her adult life as an RN and as a Nurse Anesthetist. She had surgery and radiation but
opted to forego chemotherapy after doing her research. I agreed wholeheartedly with her decision. I had
worked in the health care field for a number of years, marketing services to hospitals and physicians. During
this time, I experienced the motivations of many providers first hand, and it wasn't always putting patients
first.
Then my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was weighing his options
regarding both treatment and whether to accept any treatment at all.
During all this, I came across Rick Simpson's site, Phoenix Tears. I was,
quite frankly, floored by the information he presents. The thought that cancer can be cured easily and
cheaply, with a basic plant, is exciting.
But, being a natural born skeptic, I had to find validation from other
sources. So I looked seemingly everywhere. And what I found is just some of what I am
sharing here with you.
I have long felt that marijuana or cannabis or hemp should be legal. There is
frankly no reason to support its prohibition, Harry Anslinger be damned. He was wrong. And he did it for
all the wrong reasons. No corporation is worth protecting. Let the free markets work.
I just didn't know, until I started really researching this topic, how many reasons
there are to immediately drop all laws against this wonderful plant. In fact, I think we should re-release
"Hemp for Victory" to play as a trailer in theaters and television shows everywhere. We've got a lot of work
ahead to try and reverse the harm we've caused with 72 years of prohibition.
If we can spend billions to reverse the damage we did to the Everglades, then we can
put some effort into reversing the damage we've done to the world with this misguided war.
